Don’t be Afraid to Post on LinkedIn
Recently, I had a conversation with a client who had spent considerable time and effort improving her LinkedIn profile. She is an accomplished professional who has achieved so much in her career. When I asked her what was holding her back from consistently posting on LinkedIn, she gave me several reasons. If you are also hesitant to post, here are some tips for you:
1. “I don’t have the time.”
Begin by commenting on other’s posts and giving your point of view.
2. “I am concerned about my privacy.”
Only connect with individuals you are comfortable sharing your professional network with. Review Privacy Settings to customize who can see your connections, activity feed, and other profile details. Double-check your profile for sensitive details such as your address or personal contact information.
3. “I am not confident about my writing skills.”
Fear of making grammatical errors or expressing your ideas clearly can prevent you from putting your thoughts into written posts. Use Grammarly and other online tools that will automatically make corrections for you.
Posting on LinkedIn can be a great way to showcase your professional expertise, share insights, and connect with others in your industry. If you feel uncomfortable with posting, let’s talk about how to overcome your concerns.
